Flower care information Next Day Flowers Ltd purchase flowers daily as they arrive from Holland. We immediately condition and store the flowers in optimum refrigerated conditions. You can expect the flowers sent to last approximately one week, and in many many cases longer. Optimum vase life is of course reliant on adequate care and attention. The following flower care instructions should be adhered to:
Always ensure that any vase or container you are using is well cleaned before use as any dirt can result in bacteria forming. Ensure any foliage is above the water level as this can also cause bacteria to form. Avoid sources of heat or drafts, change the water at least twice a week and re-cut the stems (at a slant) about 3 – 5mm, and add adequate feed solution to the water. On rare occasions your rose or lily may appear to be wilting prematurely, this may be caused by an airlock in the stem. To remedy this problem we suggest cut approx 5mm off the end of the stem (at a slant), and then submerging the stem (approx 1 inch) into boiling water for approximately 10 seconds, and then immediately submerge the whole length of the stem into deep cold water, this in many cases will free the airlock and allow the flower to absorb water and be revived.
