THE FISHING: With a large number of Lochs in this area to choose from, they are the main attraction for fishing here, from a boat or from the bank side. There is some very good Brown Trout fishing in Loch Lochy (which is FREE) right next to the guesthouse, ideal for an evening cast after dinner. With so many varieties of fishing available there will always be somewhere worth fishing. The main Salmon fishing is on the river Lochy, river Ness or the river Garry (these would need to be booked in advance). But the smaller rivers like the upper river Garry, the river Morrison or the river Oich can be booked at short notice should there be a spate, making them worth fishing. Some of the deeper Lochs such as Loch Ness, Loch Arkaig and Loch Quoich have a population of Arctic Char and Ferox Trout, these are best fished for from a boat by trolling. Most of the Lochs also have good populations of Pike, these can be fished for on the fly or lures from a boat and by bait and lures from the bank. Boats are available to be hired on the day, this would be charged at an hourly rate. Sea fishing is also an option, Mackerel, Pollock, Cod and other inshore species that are abundant here. Fishing from a boat that can be launched from ether the east or west coasts. Tuition or improve your skills guiding is also available. There is also the opportunity to do some walking or biking on some of the many trails in this area. Breakfast and evening meals are included

ARRIVAL: At Inverness or Fort William. You will be picked-up and taken to your accommodation set in the middle of the beautiful highland surroundings of the Great Glen.

PLANS FOR EACH DAY: This will depend on the weather and river heights. Each evening an assessment will be made of the weather forecast and the water conditions, before planning the following days activities. There will always be an opportunity to fish every day, even if it is only in the morning and evening when the sun is low in the sky. For the rest of the day you could walk in the hills and glens that are all around the lodge which is on the Great Glen Way. Or spend a day biking some the many trails around Ben Nevis. Bikes can be hired for the day to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. There are rides for all levels of fitness and abilities from the challenging off-road trails of Wolftrax and Nevis Range to easy rides along the Caledonian Canal or Leanachan Forest trails.
